Ruben Neves has now ‘completed’ his move to Al Hilal from Wolves.
The maestro has brought an end to his spell at Molineux, which lasted six years.
The Portugal international had been expected to depart this summer. But no one thought he’d go where he’s ended up going.
News broke of Wolves and Al Hilal reaching an agreement for Neves’ transfer on Sunday.
Just days later, everything has been finalised and only official confirmation from both clubs is left.
Ruben Neves completes sensational £47 million move to Al Hilal from Wolves
According to CBS journalist James Benge, Neves has now completed his move to the Middle Eastern outfit.
In terms of the structure of the fee – it is very simple. Al Hilal offered Wolves a flat fee of £47 million.
No initial fee with add-ons, just one £47 million lump sum.
And that is exactly what Wolves have wanted in the event of there being no chance Neves would stay at the club.
Wolves were ready to sell Neves to Barcelona, which was his dream move.
But the Catalan giants could not stump up the cash and instead tried to offer Ansu Fati as part of a swap deal. But the winger did not want to come.
A great deal for Wolves who must now get to work on other sales
So Neves to Al Hilal is done, pending official confirmation.
It is still incredible to think this has actually happened. Neves really wanted to play in the Champions League again (which he could yet still do in his career), but he’s gone to the Saudi Pro League to play for massive, massive money.
Dave Edwards has suggested Neves made the move in order to secure his family for generations to come and really, who can blame him. If that is what he wants then fair enough.

The main thing here is that Wolves have brought in £47 million early on in the window.
It’s a great deal for the club, and officials must now look to follow this up with a couple more sales to get those books balanced.
The quicker Wolves get their FFP situation sorted, the better. Julen Lopetegui needs new players to come in ideally for pre-season for the best preparation for the new season.
