Club who wanted to sign Wolves star have just reached agreement with alternative target – player set for embarrassing transfer conclusion

Wolves are simultaneously working on multiple deals and could easily be one of the busiest clubs between now and next week’s transfer Deadline Day.

The Old Gold are fighting for their life at the bottom of the Premier League table. After Wolves lost to Arsenal and Leicester City beat Spurs last weekend, Vitor Pereira’s men now sit 18th in the standings.

In desperate need of more signings, Wolves are looking for additions in defence and midfield.

Pereira is hoping the Wolves owners can make at least one more signing to help with the side’s relegation battle before Monday’s deadline.

And although the Wolves manager is eyeing a new midfielder, he could have another at his disposal despite it looking like this player was on his way out earlier in the window.

Al Shabab end Mario Lemina pursuit

Mario Lemina emerged as a transfer target for Al Shabab at the beginning of the year. The midfielder was the topic of many discussions but little progress has been made.

And after talks stalled, Al Shabab decision-makers moved on to alternative targets, and according to Fabrizio Romano, have now reached an agreement to sign Glen Kamara from Rennes.

If Kamara’s move to Saudi Arabia goes through, it is fair to assume Al Shabab will not return for Lemina and that is a scenario that would leave the midfielder red-faced.

Embarrassing outcome looms

Although Lemina has recently held talks with Torino, the 31-year-old is struggling to finalise a move away from Molineux.

Unless something changes between now and Monday’s 11 p.m. (UK time) deadline, the experienced Gabon international will have no choice but to continue in the Midlands until his contract expires at the end of the season.

Not an ideal situation given how little he has been involved since his future became the subject of intense speculation.

Although Pereira hasn’t ruled out reintegrating Lemina after the window closes, the player will definitely have some making-up to do if he wants to be involved in the Old Gold’s remaining fixtures.
