Barnsley striker Daryl Dyke is being chased by ‘enormous suitors’, amid recent links to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
That’s according to the Tykes’ CEO Dane Murphy, who believes the talented 20-year-old has the ‘world in front of him’.
Dike is on loan at the Championship side from MLS club Orlando City, and has been a huge hit since his arrival during the winter transfer window.
He’s made 15 appearances so far and scored eight goals, and his sizzling form has helped push Barnsley into promotion contention.
A recent report from TEAMtalk claimed that Wolves were one of several teams to have been monitoring Dike.
Now, Murphy has spoken about the 20-year-old.
He said (Barnsley official): “Daryl’s form has been so good since he arrived that, yes, there are enormous suitors looking at him.
“He’s a 20-year-old kid, he has the world in front of him. Let’s just see where we all are at the end of the year.”
Supposedly Barnsley have an option to buy Dike – who has previously been likened to Romelu Lukaku by teammate Jordan Williams (YEP) – for around £17 million.
Wolves must keep an eye out
Dike’s work at Barnsley has been highly impressive.
The youngster has seriously hit the ground running, when few would have expected him to coming in midway through the season.
It is currently in Wolves’ interest to be looking at other strikers given the struggles of Willian Jose.
Should he continue his fantastic form, perhaps the club could look into a possible transfer swoop.
