Wolverhampton Wanderers target Christian Kouame has been speaking about his immediate future.
The striker is reportedly being chased by Wolves, with fellow managerless Premier League side Crystal Palace also keen (TMW).
Kouame has been seeing much less game time with the Italian club of late.
He made 36 appearances throughout all competitions in 2020/21, but most of those were as a substitute.
He plays second fiddle to Dusan Vlahovic and so starting opportunities have become a rarity.
He only got two goals for the club.
Kouame has actually spoken about the recent transfer interest in him, and despite his lack of game time, it doesn’t appear he’s particularly set on leaving Florence.
He said (BBC Sport Africa): “I have heard of it too, but my agent didn’t say anything to me really.
“I have just put a strange year behind me, I know I could have done more and I am very happy in Florence.
“Everyone welcomed me with open arms; the city is beautiful and my wife and son are here with me. The club will have to tell me they don’t need me anymore, otherwise, I am happy to stay.”
Kouame not the answer for Wolves
Wolves should abort any plans to move for Kouame.
He doesn’t seem all that keen to leave Fiorentina, and his form for them during this past season has not been encouraging.
If another striker is going to be brought in, then it arguably needs to be someone a little more prolific, especially given the goalscoring issues Wolves had in 2020/21.
