Chelsea fans react to Renato Veiga exit links as Wolves eye January move

Wolves could go after another defender this month, after the club landed Emmanuel Agbadou.

Wolves have signed off their first signing of the January transfer window, with Agbadou joining from French club Reims.

Agbadou flew to England last night to finalise his move, and has trained for the first time today at Compton Park ahead of Wolves’ FA Cup clash with Bristol City.

Matt Hobbs has described Agbadou as ‘a winner’ and ‘driven’, and fans just hope that he will help Wolves to become more solid at the back, after an atrocious start to the season defensively.

But Wolves won’t stop at Agbadou. Or at least, they’ll try not to.

It was claimed Wolves want to hand Vitor Pereira two new defensive recruits this month, and a few more players have been linked with the club in recent days.

One player Wolves are said to be considering is Renato Veiga, who struggled for regular starts at Chelsea.

Wolves fans have thrown their backing behind a move for Veiga, and some Chelsea fans have also been reacting to reports the Portuguese could be on the move.

Sometimes, it’s good to take a look at what opposition fans are saying about a certain player, as they obviously watch them week in, week out.

Although Veiga hasn’t featured as much as he would have liked, he has clearly still left a decent impression on some Blues fans.

Because a number have been on social media since the claim was made about Wolves liking Veiga to insist that he should not be allowed to leave this month.

That said, there also some who feel like a loan move to Wolves may actually be quite a positive step for the player.

Veiga could be a strong addition for Wolves

It remains to be seen if Wolves look to make a push for Veiga in this window, but it would be no surprise if the club did go after him.

It’s a move that just seems to make sense right now.

Veiga isn’t a nailed-on starter at Stamford Bridge, and could do with game time. He is from Portugal, and Wolves obviously have a lot of players from Portugal, or Portuguese speakers. And of course, he would work under Portuguese manager in Pereira.

Furthermore, Veiga can operate in three positions; as a centre-back, as a left-back, and even in midfield.

Veiga could well make good competition for Toti Gomes to play on the left of a back three. Toti hasn’t really had a push for that position, and Veiga could actually be exactly what he needs to improve.
