Champions League winner left out of training – Wolves transfer ‘talks’ now reported

Wolves have rushed into the January transfer window, with another possible target now coming to light.

The winter market was identified as a time for Wolves to strengthen the squad only moments after the summer window shut.

Matt Hobbs failed in the summer transfer window, leaving the Old Gold short of numbers in the squad, something that Vitor Pereira is working to solve.

As Wolves prepare to welcome Emmanuel Agbadou from Reims to replenish the defence, there’s early indication that Pereira has a lot more up his sleeve.

Wolves transfer news: Hakim Ziyech linked with transfer

While things regarding Agbadou are progressing nicely, Wolves were dealt a transfer blow from Kevin Danso, as the primary target rejected a move.

It’s onwards and upwards for the Midlands side however, with an attacking target now said to be on the horizon.

That’s according to reports in Turkey, who have linked former Chelsea winger Hakim Ziyech with a move to Molineux.

Turkish outlet Sabah claim that Ziyech has caused a ‘crisis’ at Galatasaray amid links, with it reported that the Moroccan has not been attending training.

Leaving Galatasaray has been on Ziyech’s radar for some time having been left out of Okan Buruk’s squad recently, with Wolves a possible next destination.

The report states that the Champions League winner’s agent ‘is in talks’ with Wolves over a potential transfer, in a move that could see the 31-year-old return to the Premier League.

Ziyech’s record in the Premier League

Deployed predominantly as a winger, Ziyech was scouted by Chelsea after his dazzling 2019/20 campaign at Ajax.

The Moroccan recorded 19 goal contributions in only 21 Eredivisie appearances that season, luring the Blues to bring him to the Premier League.

Unfortunately, the forward was unable to replicate his standard in the Netherlands when he moved to England, scoring only six times in 64 Premier League appearances for Chelsea.

Used sporadically by Chelsea, Ziyech’s exit became inevitable in the summer and since, the 31-year-old has regrets about making Galatasaray home.

Now, it’s thought that the winger could make a bold return to the Premier League with Wolves, in what would be a rather surprising next step for the player.
