Wolves winger Carlos Forbs has been linked with ane early return to Ajax, after struggling for minutes at Molineux.
Carlos Forbs was Wolves’ final signing of the summer window, joining on loan from the Dutch giants.
Wolves had negotiated a buy option over Forbs, which would be mandatory if he makes a certain amount of appearances which would see the club fork out just under £12 million.
Unfortunately for Forbs, the move to Wolves has not gone as he’d hoped.
The youngster has really struggling for game time so far, and has started just one Premier League game.
His immediate future has been thrown into doubt recently, and now Ajax are interested in cutting Forbs’ loan move to Wolves short.
But there is now one possible sticking point of this actually happening in the coming days.
Ajax manager wants Forbs return, but director has three-man shortlist

It’s been reported by De Telegraaf this morning that the return of Forbs to Ajax in ‘not yet a foregone conclusion’.
And there is one key reason for that.
Apparently, Ajax manager Francesco Farioli is on board with Forbs coming back and is the preferred option.
But that view is not necessarily shared by the technical director Alex Kroes, who is said to have drawn up a three-man shortlist for the left wing position.
That shortlist includes Forbs, Barcelona star Ansu Fati, and Oliver Edvardsen of Go Ahead Eagles.
Wolves are likely to want a breakthrough here, because the club are reportedly after another forward and striker in the final days of the winger.
Forbs – who is back in Wolves training after injury – staying may well mean that the signing of a new winger doesn’t happen.
Wolves need quick Forbs resolution
Wolves need to get this particular situation sorted as it could well affect their plans for a new forward in the final days of the window.
Hopefully, Ajax manager Farioli will get his way here, and Forbs will end up back with his parent club.
Fariloi did actually comment on Forbs recently, and it’s clear he quite likes Forbs. He said (via Voetbal Nieuw): “I was very happy with him at the start of the season.

“I think he has already shown here what he is. He has already helped us very much. I don’t think I can say more. I think he is very good. I spoke with him, but that is also because he would come back in the summer.”
Forbs wants to return to Ajax, so with that in mind, it’s important for Wolves to get it done.
