Lage has apparently requested his signing, and the club are now looking into his availability.

It’s explained that Wolves are looking into the possibility of taking the player on loan for the 2021/22 season.

Roma’s general manager Thiago Pinto is said to prefer to sell the player for around £10 million.

The parties are in negotiations, and it remains to be seen if a deal can get done.

There has been a lot of clamour from Wolves supporters recently for new signings.

After a bright start to the window, it’s all gone quiet at Molineux of late.

Jose Sa was the last new face, joining on August 15.

Lage mainly needs a new central defender, but another central midfielder has also been touted.

Get him in, Moutinho needs replacing

Diawara would potentially be a fantastic complement to technician Ruben Neves.

The Neves-Joao Moutinho partnership just isn’t as effective as it once was and everyone would like it to be.

Moutinho has been a fantastic player for Wolves, but at this point he should really have more of a rotation role.

The engine room needs a bit of dynamism, and Diawara would definitely bring that.
