Bournemouth hand Vitor Pereira a bitter double blow before Wolves clash

As Wolves gear up for their second match of the Premier League season against Bournemouth, it looks like two of Vitor Pereira’s transfer targets will be heading to the Cherries.

Bournemouth have had a similar problem to Wolves this summer, losing some of their biggest talents from last season.

Dean Huijsen, Milos Kerkez and Illia Zabarnyi have all been snapped up by Europe’s elite, leaving Andoni Iraola with the task of restrengthening for the new campaign.

But their focus isn’t solely on replacing those defenders, and they have enjoyed some success this week in making additions up front.

Bournemouth sign Wolves targets Ben Doak and Amine Adli

Wolves have been crying out for more attackers, and there was excitement over mentions of Ben Doak and, before that, Amine Adli.

But neither move progressed, and now it appears both have chosen to join Andoni Iraola’s side.

Doak and Adli are exciting talents who will bolster Bournemouth’s attack. In that department, it could be argued they are stronger than last season, having managed to hold on to all but Dango Outtara, who went to Brentford.

And now, rather than getting excited over the pair, Wolves fans may be cheering against them this weekend.

Wolves haven’t been aggressive enough in transfer market

Ben Doak was a player Wolves fans wanted, as a young, pacey, direct winger who was clearly going to leave Liverpool. And yet, no formal bid was reported, nor contact with the player. Then, Bournemouth swooped in for Doak.

Three weeks ago, a Molineux News exclusive revealed Wolves were leading the queue to sign Adli, but somehow, Bournemouth got ahead in that race as well.

Bournemouth were outstanding last year, but as a club of similar stature to Wolves, they shouldn’t be so easily beating us to new signings.

Both Bournemouth and Wolves are yet to earn a point in the Premier League after tough opening fixtures, so the game this weekend is sure to be contentious, and if those two Wolves targets take the pitch in red and black and do well, it’s going to sting for Vitor Pereira and the fans.
