‘Blocked’: David Ornstein has just dropped a dramatic update about Wolves and Che Adams

Wolves now face missing out on striker Che Adams, with Southampton blocking his exit on transfer deadline day.

Wanderers and the Saints had been in talks over a potential loan deal for Adams.

the club are looking to add a bit of extra firepower just before the window shuts.

Wolves had ‘expected’ to get a deal done for Adams today. And everything seemed on track.

But now, highly respected journalist David Ornstein has delivered an update that will frustrate some wolves fans this afternoon…

David Ornstein says Southampton are blocking Che Adams’ exit, after Wolves held talks

According to David Ornstein in the last moments, Wolves’ move for Adams appears to now be of.

He said on Twitter: “Southampton have blocked proposed Che Adams transfer to Wolverhampton Wanderers. 27yo Scotland striker was due to extend #SaintsFC contract + go on loan with £15m buy option that could become obligation. Deal currently off.”

He adds in The Athletic: “The potential season-long move had included a £15million option and possible obligation for Wolves to purchase the forward at the end of the season.”

At the moment, frustratingly, there are no reasons offered as to why Southampton have taken this stance.

Deadline day can always throw up surprises.

So there’s a chance things could change later in the day.

But at the moment, a move to Molineux for Adams won’t happen unless something changes.

We shall see if the club now decide to pursue other targets with just hours remaining in the window.
