Gary O’Neil is potentially going to be losing a few players at Wolves in the next few weeks.
So far this summer, only Max Kilman has departed.
He joined West Ham United for a £40 million fee, a deal that has been widely praised by the fanbase. Regarding incomings, there have been three new faces up to now – Rodrigo Gomes, Jorgen Strand Larsen and Pedro Lima.
Wolves have gone a little quiet in the transfer market over the past month or so.
But things will pick up now, and a few players will follow Kilman out.
The likes of Fabio Silva, Daniel Podence and Goncalo Guedes are expected to go. But one man who really isn’t expected to depart is Nelson Semedo, who was last night surprisingly linked with Besiktas.
Europa League club Besiktas eye Wolves ace Nelson Semedo and West Ham star

It was claimed by Takvim last night that Besiktas – who are in the play-offs for the 2024/25 Europa League – are interested in a potential deal for Semedo.
It is mentioned that the club will soon contact his agent to find out if a deal for his client is possible.
Semedo only has one year remaining on his contract at Molineux, and there is perhaps some potential for the club to consider offers for the Portugal international.
At the start of the summer, it was suggested that Semedo was one of two high-earning players who could be offloaded to get the wage bill down. The other being Pablo Sarabia.
Semedo is reportedly Wolves’ second-highest paid player behind Sarabia, on around £80,000 per week.
Besiktas are also said to be considering a move for West Ham United’s Vladimir Coufal.
Not a chance Semedo would join Besiktas
Semedo is surely not going to be joining Besiktas this summer.
He won the Players’ Player of the Year award for 2023/24 and many fans also rated his season extremely highly.
O’Neil is a huge fan of Semedo and regularly praised him throughout last season. Earlier this summer, the manager admitted that he was ‘desperate’ to keep hold of the 30-year-old.
Semedo said himself that he had his best season yet at Wolves in 2023/24, and he is clearly still capable of playing at the highest level. Moving to a club in the Turkish Super League would be a step down.
O’Neil would be pained to lose such an influential player, and Semedo himself seems very happy at Molineux. Just last week, he was quoted by the club’s official website looking ahead to the new campaign, saying: “I saw the game against West Ham and the guys are doing really well, so let’s keep going and do great things this season.”
He is surely not going anywhere.
