Wolves could potentially be about to receive a boost over Wissam Yedder, with AS Monaco looking to sign Breel Embolo.

According to Sky Germany (via Buli News), the French club are closing in on the striker from Borussia Monachengladbach.

Supposedly, the Switzerland international has agreed personal terms with the Ligue 1 side.

According to Foot Mercato, Embolo is very keen to make the switch, and is now patiently waiting for the two clubs to agree a deal.

Should the move come to fruition, then it’s something that could potentially have significance for Wolves.

Recently, the club were linked with a move for Ben Yedder.

The exciting link came from Media Foot, who suggested Wolves and Manchester United were tracking the player.

Ben Yedder has been with Monaco since 2019 and has a very impressive goalscoring record for the club.

He’s hit 73 goals in 124 games, with 32 of those coming last season in a remarkable campaign.

Seemingly though, Monaco could be preparing for life after the star, who turns 32 next month.

He’s got a couple of years left on his contract, so the club may be thinking this is the ideal time to move him on before his value plummets.

Wolves may soon find the door is open to land Ben Yedder, as Monaco close in on Embolo

If Monaco do go ahead and sign Embolo from Gladbach, then it’s possible a transfer to Molineux for Ben Yedder could happen.

Embolo, 25, would be direct competition for the star, and so it would be no surprise if Monaco were ready to hear offers.

And Wolves should be considering a move if the asking price is reasonable.

Granted, he doesn’t really fit with the club’s transfer policy. But Ben Yedder is a proven goalscorer. And in three of Europe’s top five leagues, too.

He could potentially really increase productivity in the final third for Wanderers.

So Embolo to Monaco is a situation worth keeping an eye on.
