Another Wolves player now set to leave in January after Fer Lopez

Wolves’ January window is so important in both incomings and outgoings.

At the moment, the Wanderers need to reshuffle their squad. The lack of quality is evident, and the number of non-homegrown players limits how they can move in the market.

There are certainly going to be some players moved on in the next month, but Rob Edwards has been promised none of his top stars will be included.

Ahead of January, Fer Lopez has been linked with a loan exit, but the 21-year-old may not be the only young talent set to move.

What do you make of Wolves’ decision to loan out Fer Lopez after his £19m move?😬

Paraguayan journalist reports Enso Gonzalez could leave Wolves

In 2023, Wolves signed promising South American talent Enso Gonzalez for £5.2 million from Club Libertad.

Since arriving, Gonzalez has played just one game for the Old Gold, and that was a one-minute cameo in Wolves’ final home game in the 2023/2024 season.

And that has left the Paraguayan having to settle for minutes with the youth squads.

However, his time at Molineux may now be coming to an end after reports have emerged from a Paraguayan journalist.

According to Arturo Máximo Rubin, Enso Gonzalez ‘will not continue’ with Wolves, and whether he stays in England with a different Premier League team ‘remains to be seen.’

Enso Gonzalez could leave Wolves in January. Should he have been given more of a chance throughout his time at Molineux?

Translation: Enso González will not continue at Wolverhampton of English football.
It remains to be seen whether he will stay in the Premier League.

In recent weeks, the 20-year-old has been spotted in first-team training, and academy coach James Collins believes the Paraguayan attacker is ready for the Premier League.

Matt Hobbs’ assessment of Enso Gonzalez describes what Wolves need right now

Whether or not Enso Gonzalez is good enough to play for Wolves in the Premier League, the way that former sporting director Matt Hobbs described him back in 2023 is exactly the sort of player Rob Edwards needs right now.

Hobbs said, “His creativity stood out, playing forward, being aggressive in possession and doing his work out of possession, but for me it was more what he does offensively.

“Most players do the other side of the work if you’re getting the right sort of people, but with Enso I’m excited to see what he gives us going forward.” (via Wolves).

However, while Hobbs was excited, the player has not been given any opportunities to show why the club signed him.

Instead, he has been out of favour with both Gary O’Neil and Vitor Pereira. It seems now he will not be given a chance to impress Rob Edwards.
