Matheus Cunha has been the big topic of conversation at Wolves over the last few days.
A few weeks ago, Cunha and Wolves were in talks over a new contract for the Brazilian.
A verbal agreement was reached, and fans had been waiting on an official announcement from the club.
But ahead of the game with Chelsea on Monday, it was claimed Cunha and his agent were stalling over the new deal.
Cunha then performed poorly against Chelsea and was criticised by fans, with some suggesting his head had been turned. Even Vitor Pereira publicly criticised Cunha’s body language.
But yesterday, it was claimed Cunha is not for sale at Wolves and the club expect him to stay. And another key reason has been offered as to why Wolves are relaxed.

Wolves are under zero financial pressure to sell Matheus Cunha

It has been reported by Sky Sports that Cunha is now unlikely to leave the club this month.
He’s also unlikely to sign a new contract, but the South America is set to stay at Molineux beyond the transfer deadline, in what would be a major boost for Wolves in their fight against relegation.
It’s explained that this proposed new contract has only ever been about rewarding Cunha.
And one key reason is offered by Sky as to why Wolves feel relaxed about the situation – and it is that the club are not under financial pressure to sell.
Wolves brought in just over £90 million in the summer after selling Pedro Neto and Max Kilman. Around £80 million was spent on new additions (not including the full permanent fee for Jorgen Strand Larsen), and just over £15 million was spent on Emmanuel Agbadou a couple of weeks ago.
So Wolves don’t have to sell Cunha and any decision to do so now will be purely down to the owners wanting to turn a considerable profit.
Wolves can appease fans with new signings
All the Cunha talk is quite draining and at this point, many just want to see some new players coming through the door. That should be the focus right now, not key players potentially leaving
Wolves started the window positively with the acquisition of Agbadou. But it’s been all quiet for a couple of weeks which is concerning.

Wolves have just over a week now to get their business done.
Getting two more quality players in could be the difference between survival and relegation, so Matt Hobbs and co have got to get it right.
