Wolves are bracing themselves for Deadline Day with the shock transfer of Andre from Fluminense set to be completed.

Out of nowhere, it was announced on Wednesday night that Wolves were edging closer to striking a deal with the Brazilian club for the midfielder before deadline day.

Gary O’Neil and Matt Hobbs have until Friday night to get the Old Gold’s squad in order for the 2024/25 campaign, with time ticking to get the proposed deals over the line.

Now, an update has been provided regarding Andre’s status, with details of a proposed medical coming to light.

Wolves strike deal with Fluminense for Andre transfer

Just as Wolves fans were worrying about the transfer window, it was announced that the club were ready to welcome the Brazil international to Molineux.

It’s an exciting deal for the Old Gold, with Wolves agreeing £21m to sign Andre from Fluminense in the dying embers of the summer transfer.

Now, another update has been provided by journalist Ben Jacobs, who confirmed that the midfielder’s journey to the Midlands is underway, with details of his medical coming to light.

Jacobs reported that the 23-year-old will embark on his journey to Wolverhampton on Deadline Day before signing his Wolves contract.

“Andre to Wolves from Fluminense is now agreed. Andre will fly tomorrow with his medical on Deadline Day.”

Premier League move was always on the cards for Andre

Wolves are the lucky ones when it comes to bringing Andre to the Premier League, with many before the Old Gold admiring the Brazilian gem.

90min reported in November 2023 that Manchester United, Spurs, Liverpool and Arsenal were eyeing a move for the midfielder, who is expected to be a perfect fit for the English game.

Earlier this summer, Wolves thought they’d missed out on Andre to Fulham, as the Cottagers were reported to have struck a deal with Fluminense for his transfer.

It’s an incredibly exciting transfer for the Old Gold, who are poised to reap the benefits of the South American market once more, less than two years after Joao Gomes landed from Flamengo to set Molineux alight.

Everything looks in place for Andre to become a Wolves player by the close of play on Friday, with a medical scheduled to take place tomorrow.
