After Fer Lopez, Wolves now looking at £8.5m Spanish gem once likened to Lionel Messi

Wolves are seeking to hand Vitor Pereira the tools he needs to make big strides in 2025/26.

Wolves learned their 2025/26 fixtures on Wednesday morning, and it’s a mixed bag, with a tough start and Christmas period, but a potentially forgiving May.

It looks as though Wolves will soon announce their first signing of the summer.

Fer Lopez completed his Wolves medical on Wednesday, and he will join the club for a fee in the region of £20 million.

The club are keen to stress that Lopez is not a replacement for Matheus Cunha, as he hasn’t long been playing senior football.

But Wolves want two number 10s this summer, and potentially the club may now go straight back to the Spanish market for their second player for that position.

Wolves linked with transfer for Real Valladolid winger Raul Moro

It has been reported by Matteo Moretto, who is fairly reliable when it comes to Spanish transfers, that Wolves are interested in a move for Raul Moro.

Moro plays for Real Valladolid, who will play in the Spanish second tier in 2025/26 after finishing rock bottom of La Liga in 2024/25.

But Wolves could be up against it to sign Moro.

Because he’s actually fairly close to a move to Ajax, with the suggestion being Wolves are looking to hijack the deal.

Moretto reports: “Very advanced negotiation between Raúl Moro (one of the most outstanding players of the Spanish U21 team) and Ajax, as reported by @telegraaf, but not yet between the Dutch club and Valladolid.

“Ongoing contacts with Valladolid’s new ownership awaiting formalities. The Spanish club is asking for slightly more than 10 million euros, and in the last few hours, other teams have also contacted the player, including Wolverhampton.

“Ajax is in the lead, but the negotiation is not yet 100% finalised.”

Moro is currently on duty with Spain at the U21s Euros, where he is with Hugo Bueno. So far, he’s been named Player of the Match in all three of their games.

Raul Moro style of play

It was a disappointing season for Real Valladolid, but Moro had a decent campaign on a personal note, scoring five goals and making six assists in 34 matches.

That was only his first season at the club, and it looks as though Moro will already be on the move, with Ajax very keen and Wolves potentially looking to get involved.

And whichever team signs him will be getting a player who is a ‘direct winger who possesses electric speed and almost every trick in the book’ according to Goal in 2020.

While he was at Lazio, he was said to have ‘supreme ability and confidence’.

His agent Junior Minguella once said of Moro, who is a graduate of Barcelona’s famous La Masia academy: “He can make the difference. That’s shown by the fact that at Barcelona they compared him to [Lionel] Messi.

“Of course, it’s an exaggeration, but it lets you understand the kind of player he is.”
