There is a transfer story unfolding elsewhere, and it could have significance for Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The Inter Milan CEO Beppe Marotta suggested last night that Paris Saint-Germain are closing in on full-back Achraf Hakimi.

Supposedly, the deal could be announced today.

He told Sky Italia (via Goal): “We are at the final stages for Hakimi to PSG, it’s going to be a done deal in 24 hours.”

According to Goal, that particular deal could cost the Parisians up to £60 million plus bonuses.

The very expensive transfer could now impact Wolves.

It was recently reported that Chelsea had interest in Hakimi, and saw Adama Traore as an alternative.

With the Moroccan bound for Ligue 1, it could be that the Champions League winners now come knocking for the Spaniard.

 

Telegraph journalist Matt Law said on the London is Blue podcast that the Blues have had interest in Traore for a while.

He claimed enquiries were actually made over the player while he was still at Middlesbrough.

Wolves may have to brace

The Hakimi development could well now see Chelsea make tracks over Traore.

Supposedly Thomas Tuchel is a fan of the 25-year-old.

The German coach is supposedly a big fan of his, and sees him as someone capable of fitting in his wing-backs system.

If Chelsea do come calling, it’s vital Wolves demand top dollar, for a player everybody knows is totally unique and a potential game-changer.
