Wolves could be set to lose Fabio Silva this summer, with the striker having opened the door to join Rangers permanently.
The 21-year-old joined the Scottish giants on loan in January, after failing to establish himself in the starting XI for Wolves under Gary O’Neil.
Silva got a handful of opportunities at the start, but from mid-November onwards, he didn’t play a single minute in the Premier League.
O’Neil much preferred the more mobile and experienced trio of Mathus Cunha, Pedro Neto and Hwang Hee-chan, and the manager’s faith in those players has been fully vindicated.
So Silva departed and so far, it’s been a pretty good spell for the Portuguese striker up in Scotland – and he very much seems to be enjoying himself…
Fabio Silva opens door for potential Wolves exit as he expresses happiness at Rangers

So far, Silva has made 13 appearances for Rangers and on Sunday, the £80,000-a-week man hit his fourth goal for them in the quarter-final of the Scottish Cup against Hibernian.
Previously, Silva has had a couple of loan spells away from Molineux. Last term, he played for Anderlecht, before then moving to PSV Eindhoven.
For those two clubs, he made a combined 51 appearances and scored 16 goals.
It hasn’t really happened for Silva at Wolves though since he arrived at the club for £35 million back in the summer of 2020. For Wanderers, he’s managed just five goals in 72 appearances, although plenty of those appearances have been mere cameos.
So it would make sense that Silva is open to a permanent exit from the club, and the youngster would seemingly be quite happy to remain at Rangers.
He said (BBC Sport): “I’m loving being here. I don’t control these things 100%. It’s not 100% my decision to stay, if it was up to me then maybe yes. But I could say ‘yes’ and then you have a lot of things still to be taken care of.
“Perhaps I have the least input into whether I stay here but we have two months to enjoy the football, to win titles and I think after that, if we win trophies and everything goes well, Rangers and I will do everything for me to stay.
“When you see me playing with a smile on my face, I think everything’s going the right way. I enjoy playing here, playing for the fans, the staff, my teammates.
“It’s a pleasure to be here. I enjoy it a lot. I’ve been trying to get back my happiness and they’re giving me that.”
These comments follow Silva’s father also opening the door to a potential permanent move to Ibrox.
Wolves will definitely listen to offers
So it seems clear that Silva is open to leaving Wolves permanently, but it is going to be about whether the club can get a fair price.
Wanderers will want to recoup as much of that initial £35 million investment as possible. However, Wolves will surely not get near that figure as Silva just hasn’t proven himself.
The Nuno Espirito Santo signing did well at Anderlecht and PSV, and is now finding his feet at Rangers. But his struggles in the Premier League will mean it’s unlikely Wolves will be able to sell for anywhere near £35 million.
But the club will definitely hear offers. Gary O’Neil seemingly didn’t fancy him while he had him available, so there’s a very reasonable chance he’ll leave this summer.
