£8.45m transfer edges closer as target’s agent spotted at Compton ahead of Wolves medical

Wolves are edging closer to announcing one exciting signing as the player’s representatives are at Compton Park.

Gary O’Neil and Matt Hobbs have already announced the signings of Tommy Doyle and Rodrigo Gomes this summer, with more expected in the coming days.

After the disaster that was the transfer window at Wolves in 2023, the Old Gold have got to work fast this summer, with plenty of activity poised to happen ahead of 2024/25.

Now, one signing looks close to being unveiled as one of O’Neil’s new recruits, in what will be the club’s third capture of the summer.

Agent of Pedro Lima is now at Compton ahead of Wolves transfer

The transfer of Pedro Lima has been no secret since the news was announced that Wolves had hijacked Chelsea’s attempt to sign the teenager.

It was clear that the teenager would sign a deal with the Premier League club when he turned 18, with July 1st being his 18th birthday.

The 2006-born defender has said his goodbyes in Brazil as he posted a social media message to former club Sport Recife, with another update now provided.

Today [July 1st], Lima’s agent Renato Guimaraes posted an Instagram story of himself at Compton, drinking out of a Wolves cup in preparation for the announcement.

The 18-year-old is expected to complete a transfer worth a reported £8.45m, which Sporting Recife have agreed on the basis of a future sell-on fee between 15% and 20%.

Chelsea were close to signing the highly-rated right-back, who instead will join Wolves to the delight of Matheus Cunha, who is a big fan of the youngster.

Gary O’Neil can unearth a superstar in Lima

In preparation for the signing, there has been a lot of speculation over the role that the teenager will play in O’Neil’s squad.

The manager is expected to welcome the youngster straight into the first team, reinforcing the quality that Wolves see in the Brazilian.

Capturing Lima’s signature ahead of Chelsea could turn out to be significant for the Midlands club, who look to have acquired a top talent in the versatile right-back.

As the move edges ever closer, it could only be a matter of days until fans finally get to see the dazzling Brazilian in the Old Gold for the first time ahead of next season.
