Wolverhampton Wanderers could now sell midfielder Hayao Kawabe to Standard Liege in a deal worth around £1.3million.
That is according to Belgian transfer reporter Sacha Tavolieri, who claims that talks are now advanced for Kawabe to join Standard.
Tavolieri reports that the deal will be worth around €1.5million (£1.3million) and there is confidence on all sides that a deal will be done.
Standard are managed by former West Bromwich Albion defender Carl Hoefkens and are now ready to raid Wolves.
A three-year deal is believed to be on offer for Kawabe, who is now closing in on a permanent departure from Wolves.
Wolves fans may have forgotten about Hayao Kawabe
We could hardly blame any Wolves fans who had forgotten that Kawabe is still on the books.
The 27-year-old impressed in Japan with Sanfreece Hiroshima and Jubilo Iwata, earning himself a move to Switzerland with Grasshoppers.
Wolves have a partnership with Grasshoppers and have just sent both Nigel Lonwijk and Theo Corbeanu on loan there this week.
Wolves snapped up Kawabe in January 202 but loaned him back to Grasshoppers for 18 months.

That means Kawabe has never made a senior appearance for Wolves and it looks like he never will either.
Standard are closing in and may see real goalscoring potential in Kawabe.
16 goals in 69 games for Grasshoppers is a decent record for Kawabe and he will be desperate to kick on and nail down a spot in the Japan national team.
Chances at Wolves were just never likely to come for Kawabe and yet he will now move on for a profit.
Wolves paid £500,000 to sign Kawabe but will now cash in for a seven-figure fee.
Kawabe will now become the latest Wolves exit this summer, following on from the likes of Conor Coady, Nathan Collins, Joao Mourinho, Ruben Neves, Adama Traore and Diego Costa.
