£35m Wolves player now ‘likely’ to leave in January with several options

Wolves could be about to see the departure of Fabio Silva occur in January, with the forward believed to have several suitors.

Fabio Silva was likely viewing this season as his last chance at Wolves and to date, it’s not worked out.

Silva joined Wolves for a fee of £35.6m however despite high potential, he’s never settled at Wolves.

He spent time on various different loans where he was okay, for some reason he just can’t do it for Wolves.

Due to this the best option is probably to cut ties at this stage, especially with Wolves staff not seeing a future for him. Now a recent report has suggested that is exactly what could happen.

Fabio Silva to leave Wolves

According to Express and Star, Silva is highly sought after this winter and a departure is very likely.

The report specifies that interest is high from the Bundesliga with Eintract Frankfurt, Borussia Monchengladbach, Wolfsburg and Union Berlin all in the race to sign Silva.

Meanwhile there are also believes to be clubs in Spain and Italy who are also keen.

As this was reported the general consensus is that Wolves should simply be selling Silva opposed to yet another loan, which we agree with.

Selling Silva could be huge for Wolves in terms of funding some January arrivals which are also necessary.

How much will Fabio Silva cost?

Wolves aren’t likely to ever make a profit on Silva so they can forget about that. But with a market value of £13m according to TransferMarkt, this would be a solid amount.

Considering Silva hasn’t played since November 4th against Sheffield United, it’s safe to assume Gary O’Neil isn’t a fan and therefore taking the hit is the best choice for all involved.

It’s a real shame that it hasn’t worked out for the 19-cap Portugal U21 ace given he was tipped to be a world beater when he joined age at age 17.

Ultimately, his legacy will unfortunately be defined by the penalty he gave away in his last appearance and potentially the players his fee is used to buy.
