£35m Wolves man now wanted by two Scottish giants in January

Fabio Silva is a player who is absolutely on his way out of Molineux and now it’s emerged two Scottish giants are leading the race.

Wolves are expected to continue acting conservatively in the January transfer window in order to continue recovering the club’s financial situation.

Fabio Silva therefore is likely to be sacrificed to finance any potential incomings that Wolves are keen to do.

Interest is already high in the Portuguese forward, with five Bundesliga sides showing interest in Silva. Along with German interest, Italian sides are keen on Silva’s arrival.

Silva hasn’t been seen in action for Old Gold since Wolves’ loss at Sheffield United where he gave away a penalty.

It was reported in November that Wolves staff didn’t think Silva has a future at the club, and now even more clubs are entering the race.

Interest in Fabio Silva continues to grow

Interest in Silva is at an all-time high with countless teams now believed to hold an interest.

Now as the race heats up, two Scottish giants are in the race and are also said to be leading the pack.

This is according to O Jogo who report that Celtic and Rangers are entering their latest battle – this time over the 21-year-old forward, for which they’re ‘leading the race’ which is impressive considering the continental interest in Silva.

It’s high praise to know Scotland’s two best sides are chasing Silva and either would be a terrific option either on loan or permanently.

How much could Wolves get for Silva

It’s extremely unlikely Wolves will recoup too much of the £35m they spent on Silva and at this point will merely be cutting their losses.

He still has two and a half years left on his £80k-a-week contract which in hindsight was a ridiculous contract to give an 18-year-old.

On CIES’s value tool, Silva has a market value right now of £17.3m which Wolves would probably jump at the chance to get for him right now.

This sale could be all Wolves need to bring a player in who is more suited to Gary O’Neil‘s plans this season and beyond.
