27-year-old Wolves player almost sealed loan to UCL club, could now head to Saudi

More twists and turns on transfer deadline day, with Wolves winger Daniel Podence now potentially heading to Saudi Arabia.

It was suggested earlier that the 27-year-old was set to make a move to Qatari club Al-Duhail.

Apparently Podence’s agent was finalising a £5 million move.

But now a counter-claim has been made.

And now, Podence could be in line to follow Ruben Neves – who was the first sale of what has been a longer summer at Wolves – to Saudi Arabia.

Journalist Pedro Sepulveda is casting doubt on those claims of Podence heading to Qatar.

He says the player will not go there.

According to him, there are now two options for Podence; either make a move to Saudi Arabia, or stay at Wolves.

And interestingly, in an earlier tweet, Sepulveda said that Podence actually came very close to sealing a move to Champions League club Sevilla. But that move fell through.

He also mentions interest from Real Betis, which is something that has been reported a few times in this window.

But seemingly there are now two options for Podence, and it remains to be seen if a club will come calling in the final hours of the window.

In the last moments, Sepulveda has tweeted again to say that Al-Ettifaq are now pushing for Podence.
