26-year-old midfielder now just waiting to see if Wolves will bid for him

Arthur Melo is reportedly waiting to see if Wolves will act on their interest in him, as he mulls over a lucrative offer from Saudi.

Recently, Wolves were linked with a move for the 26-year-old, despite him struggling for minutes last season while on loan with Liverpool.

Seemingly, Wolves are in the market for a new midfielder, after losing Ruben Neves and Joao Moutinho.

It was suggested that Wanderers were very interested in the Brazilian.

Apparently, Julen Lopetegui is a fan of his ball-playing ability.

There have now been a couple more updates on Wolves’ apparent interest in Arthur.

Arthur Melo is ‘waiting’ for Wolves

Yesterday, the Daily Mail reported that Arthur had actually received a lucrative offer from the Saudi Pro League.

The SPL are on a mission to grown their league and are throwing money at stars currently playing in Europe.

Of course, earlier this summer, Ruben Neves completed a move to Al Hilal.

Arthur has been offered to go, but it is stated that he is ‘waiting’ for Wolves to see if they will firm up their interest in him.

But last night on Twitter, journalist Liam Keen reported that there is currently no interest from Wolves in Arthur.

He then wrote a report that focused on Wolves’ interest in Matt Doherty, and reiterated his point about Arthur at the bottom.

Wolves should avoid signing Arthur Melo

Arthur played just 13 minutes for Liverpool last season.

The midfielder is probably looking for a fresh start. But Wolves should not be the club to give him one.

There is too much risk attached following his lack of football over the last year or so.

Wanderers should be focused on bringing in players who have a bit of momentum and rhythm.

Perhaps if Juventus would sanction a loan move then Wolves will be tempted.

But there is surely no way Wolves can consider a permanent move for the player.
