Wolves are thought to be looking at new strikers this summer, but one transfer target looks like he won’t be making a switch to Molineux.
Wolves have commenced their pre-season now, and today played their first game against Santa Clara.
And it was a 2-1 defeat for Wolves, although results are not too important at this stage.
Interestingly, Sasa Kalajdzic was on the scoresheet for Wanderers.
Kalajdzic is back in the picture now after his lengthy spell on the sidelines after another serious knee injury, but it remains to be seen if he will be sticking around.
Kalajdzic has been tipped to head out on loan this summer.
And Fabio Silva is also expected to still leave Wolves, despite being with the squad at the moment.
So a new striker is surely on the agenda, but one man who seemingly won’t be coming to Molineux is Taty Castellanos.
Wolves set to miss out on Lazio striker Taty Castellanos

At the very start of the summer, it was claimed Wolves have done surveys on Castellanos.
The Argentina international enjoyed a good campaign in 2024/25, scoring 14 goals in 40 appearances and making eight assists.
It was then reported Wolves had made contact with Lazio over Castellanos.
A £25 million asking price was then set for Castellanos, with interest from Nottingham Forest also being reported.
But it looks as though Castellanos will be heading to neither Wolves nor Forest, with Vene Casagrande reporting Flamengo are now in advanced talks with the player.
The top Brazilian journalist told his one million followers on X: “Flamengo are in advanced talks to sign the striker Taty Castellanos from Lazio. The Argentine is 26 years old and has been with the team since 2023.”
This move could therefore see him link up with Wallace Yan, a player Wolves have been heavily linked with in recent weeks.
Earlier today though, Wolves’ interest in Wallace was dismissed.

New striker is a must for Wolves amid Castellanos update
Castellanos was perhaps never too likely for Wolves, but Pereira certainly needs a new number nine.
It looks like Silva and Kalajdzic will still be in their way this summer despite their involvement in pre-season so far.
And there is also potential for both Hwang Hee-chan and Goncalo Guedes to leave the club.
Jorgen Strand Larsen is an excellent first-choice striker but he needs cover and also competition.
So hopefully, there are several other targets being worked on as we speak.
