Wolves look set to miss out on Portuguese attacker Jota, with the player reportedly giving West Ham United the green light.
Gary O’Neil has just a few days left to try and sign the new striker he has craved all window.
The manager had initially indicated that he was confident the club would bring someone in. However, last week he suggested that a couple of things Wolves were working on were no longer doable.
Fans remain hopeful that one or two new faces will arrive late.
But it looks like Jota, who was linked recently with Wolves, will not be heading to Molinuex…
Jota set to make West Ham move following Wolves transfer links

It was reported last week that Wanderers were monitoring the situation of Jota, who currently pays for Al-Ittihad in Saudi Arabia.
The 24-year-old has had an absolute nightmare stint out in the Middle East since completing his move from Celtic last summer.
As per The Sun, Jota was not registered by Al-Ittihad to play in the league ‘as the division’s rules state each club is only allowed eight foreign players in their squad’. He has therefore not played in the Saudi Pro League since September, and has made just six appearances in the last four-and-a-half months.
So he’s wanting out, but it does not look as though he’ll be heading to Wolves.
Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna has reported today that the player has actually now given a move to West Ham United the green light.
He wrote on X: “Agreement reached between Jota and West Ham. Positive talks are taking place between Al-Ittihad and West Ham. Sources feel clubs can reach full agreement. Jota, waiting for the green light from the clubs to travel to UK medicals.”
Jota would be no huge miss for Wolves
So it looks at the moment as though Jota will be heading to West Ham, but Wolves need not be frustrated.
Ultimately, his stint with Al-Ittihad has not gone well and there is a chance that he will not be able to hit the ground running in the Premier League as a result of his lack of football.
O’Neil has said himself that he won’t sign players this month for the sake of it. Whoever comes in needs to be able to make an impact and ideally they will be an improvement on the current options.
Thankfully, Wolves are in a good position right now. A new forward would be nice this month, but it is no longer essential.
