Signing a goalkeeper was not a priority for Wolves, but that did not stop the club looking to bring one in.
Wolves originally chased Christos Mandas from Lazio but a move was unable to come to fruition due to Lazio’s transfer ban.
The Old Gold also scouted Yahia Fofana from Angers SC, but nothing concrete ever came of that.
They were later said to be interested in Coritiba goalkeeper Pedro Morisco, making it clear signing another man between the sticks was on the agenda.
However, one name they were interested in signing was never publicly revealed, and a deal was close for the ‘keeper to move.
Senne Lammens was ready to join Wolves in the summer

Manchester United signed Belgian goalkeeper Senne Lammens in a deal worth £22 million on deadline day, but the 23-year-old was almost a Wolves player.
The interest was revealed on the most recent Express and Star Wolves Podcast hosted by Nathan Judah and Liam Keen, with the former confirming the pursuit.
Journalist Nathan Judah said, [15:40] ‘Wolves had a keeper ready to go and he was ready to come. Senne Lammens, Belgian under 21 international from Royal Antwerp.’
‘Wolves were pretty close to getting him at the start of the window. They didn’t really follow up on that interest and missed out in the end.’
With a deal so close to being completed, you do have to wonder why the club did not finalise the transfer.
Lammens was open to the switch, and you’d have to expect they couldn’t justify the finances involved, and putting money in other areas was more important.

Either way, the failed move does highlight what Wolves must do in the near future.
Wolves need a Jose Sa replacement sooner rather than later
Wolves are clearly looking to bring a new young goalkeeper into the club to replace Jose Sa, and a signing is likely to be done in the next year.
In the upcoming months, Wolves could move for Mandas again in January, but whether they do or not remains to be seen.
The performances of Jose Sa have left Wolves fans worried, and the 32-year-old does have the odd mistake in him.
Jose Sa has been a great servant for Wolves since joining in 2021, but perhaps after this season, it is time for the ‘keeper and club to part ways.
