£17m Wolves and Leeds target’s stance now shared as he returns to training amid transfer speculation

Vitor Pereira wants more new faces through the door – and things could be picking up for Wolves.

Fer Lopez arrived about a month ago now, but since he came there has been no activity on the incomings front.

But Wolves are expected to sign Jhon Arias from Fluminense, and fans will then hope to see new wing-backs come in.

It looks as though Nelson Semedo won’t be returning to Wolves, and Rayan Ait-Nouri also needs replacing.

But Wolves are also in the market for midfielders, and recently it was claimed the club have eyes on a star from La Liga.

Christantus Uche of Getafe is thought to be of interest to Wolves – and an update has now been provided on the Nigeria international after some recent speculation.

It has been reported by a few outlets that Uche wasn’t part of Getafe’s group last week for their pre-season training camp in Valencia.

But according to Estadio Deportivo, Uche is now training with Getafe, and it’s stated he won’t be trying to force a move this summer.

That said, his situation is ‘open’ at the moment, suggesting Getafe would be receptive to offers coming in.

Uche though, won’t force anything and will continue preparing for the new season as normal.

It has previously been suggested that Wolves would be willing to offer around £17 million for Uche’s services.

Leeds United have also been looking at Uche, as have Brentford and Chelsea.

Pereira’s powers of persuasion required to land Uche

It sounds as though Uche is not overly desperate to leave Getafe, but that there is a chance he could depart.

Seemingly, Wolves have some work to do if they are to sell their project to the player.

Appearances – 34
Minutes played – 2877
Goals – 4
Assists – 7

Uche, who can play as a number 10 or up top, is an interesting player who could well provide some output for Wolves. Last term, he scored four goals and made seven assists across all competitions.

At 6ft 3in tall, he could also bring some physicality, which we know Pereira likes.

We will see if Wolves decide to swoop – at the moment, Pereira does have several options for those advanced midfield positions including Jean-Ricner Bellegarde, Marshall Munetsi, Fer Lopez, Hwang Hee-chan, and Jhon Arias will likely soon become another.
