£15m player could leave Wolves ‘in next few days’ after reaching agreement with team

Wolves striker Sasa Kalajdzic has reportedly reached an agreement to join Eintracht Frankfurt on loan and the star could leave ‘in the next few days’ – but there are still two other clubs keen to sign him.

The Austria international looks to be following Fabio Silva out of the door at Molineux, after a lack of minutes this season under Gary O’Neil.

Kalajdzic has found opportunities hard to come by, with Matheus Cunha and Hwang Hee-chan the clear favourites with the manager.

He’s scored two late winners for Wolves, but O’Neil doesn’t really seem to fancy him and so, there is now strong speculation he’ll be departing.

Sky Sports Austria have reported on the situation with Kalajdzic, and it does not sound like anything is particularly close at the moment.

Apparently, Kalajdzic has reached a verbal agreement with Eintracht Frankfurt. At the moment though, the publication claim there is no agreement between the two clubs. Eintracht want a loan, and they want a buy option for next summer.

Kalajdzic has given Eintracht the green light, but he may not necessarily end up there – because he also has interest from Wolfsburg and his former club Stuttgart.

Stuttgart are aware there is a lot of interest in their striker Serhou Guirassy – who has actually also been linked with Wolves – and are considering Kalajdzic in case he leaves.

But it’s Eintracht who are in the driving seat. Sky Sports Austria say a deal could come to fruition ‘in the next few days’.

Kalajdzic leaving right for all parties

It sounds as though it’s now more likely Kalajdzic will be leaving than staying – and this is probably the right move for all parties.

It has been surprising to see how little he has featured this term, especially since he has shown he can be useful, scoring two late winners.

Seemingly though, O’Neil just doesn’t really seem to value what the £15 million man brings. He could undoubtedly have brought him on in some games where Wolves were chasing a goal, but refrained from doing so.

It’s Euro 2024 this summer and Kalajdzic cannot be warming the bench in the lead-up to that tournament.

Ideally, Wolves would get money now for Kalajdzic. But it’s difficult for some clubs to spend in January and a loan with option to buy might be the most realistic outcome here.
