Kyle Walker is a player who has had a mixed time at Molineux over his career, and what he said in 2018 highlights a big issue Wolves have now.
After leaving Manchester City, Walker is now plying his trade for Burnley, the Old Gold’s opposition this weekend.
However, before that, he had faced the Wanderers on eight occasions for Man City, with the player only winning 50% of the time.
The first time he faced Wolves for the Citizens came in a 1-1 draw in 2018, and the Old Gold impressed him on the day.

Kyle Walker believed it used to be tough for teams to win at Molineux
Under the early stewardship of Nuno Espirito Santo, Wolves were a tough team to play against, particularly at home.
In the 2018/2019 season, they managed to qualify for the Europa League, and one of their first games of that season set the course for their success.
Wolves held the champions at the time, Manchester City, to a 1-1 draw, and it left a big impression on Kyle Walker.
Following the draw, Walker said via BBC Sport, “They are a well-organised team, so I think it will be hard for teams to come here.”
Walker would turn out to be correct, with Wolves losing just five games at their home ground all Premier League season and picking up some impressive wins.
Wins against Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United all came at Molineux that year.
Kyle Walker later stated how Wolves catch teams by surprise and how it makes an away trip to Molineux all the more difficult.
A year on from the 1-1 draw, Wolves would get another famous result against Man City, but perhaps now they need to go back to what made Walker so complimentary.
Wolves need to make Molineux a cauldron again
Wolves need to take a leaf out of their own book and become much more difficult to beat with better defensive organisation.
The Old Gold have not won a game in the Premier League since April 2025, and that win also came at their home ground.
It is a two-way street to build a hostile atmosphere for the opposition. The players need to perform to give the fans something to cheer about, and fans must show support in good moments during games.
There is no doubt that Molineux is capable of producing a fiery atmosphere, but results have left little to no optimism around the club.
When Kyle Walker returns to face Wolves with Burnley, let’s hope the Wanderers can truly kick their season into gear and give the defender a reminder of those times he experienced in 2018.
The Opta supercomputer certainly thinks Wolves can get the job done.
