Wolves fans were again treated to a moment of brilliance by Matheus Cunha at the weekend against Liverpool.
Wolves lost 2-1 at Anfield, but gave a spirited performance on Merseyside.
The damage was done in the first-half, with Luis Diaz and Mo Salah scoring for the hosts.
Wolves fans were not happy with referee Simon Hooper for his performance, with many feeling he should have issued more cards to Liverpool players.
There was also controversy over the penalty he awarded to Liverpool when Jose Sa brought down Diaz.
But there were positives aplenty for Wolves, and Matheus Cunha’s goal was a moment of real quality.
The Brazilian has been in fine fettle since signing his new contract at Molineux – and the star is actually now closing in on making Premier League history.

Matheus Cunha could become highest-scoring Brazilian in a single Premier League season

Cunha gave Wolves hope against Liverpool, striking from outside the box in the 67th minute.
It was a superb hit from Wolves’ number 10, and one that took his tally for the season to 12 in the Premier League.
That is an impressive haul, and it’s probably safe to say that he’s likely to add a few more by the end of the campaign.
And so, it’s very possible that Cunha could actually soon make history.
Currently, the record for most goals in a single Premier League season by a Brazilian player is jointly held by Roberto Firmino and Gabriel Martinelli, who have both hit 15.
Firmino managed 15 in the 2017/18 season, and Martinelli also scored 15 in 2022/23.
Cunha well on track to break Premier League record
So Cunha needs just three more goals to equal the tally of 15 posted by Firmino and Martinelli, and four to break the record outright.
Few would bet against him to do this given the quality of the player.

Cunha has shown he can conjure things up out of nothing so it would be a surprise if he managed to finish the season from this point with fewer than 15 Premier League goals.
Wolves have Bournemouth, Fulham, Everton, Southampton and West Ham United up next in the Premier League, and Cunha will definitely fancy his chances of scoring in each of those games.
It is simply a case of him staying fit.
It would be pretty special for him to become the highest Brazilian scorer in a single Premier League season, and great for Wolves to boast the player with the record.
