Wolves are floundering at the bottom of the Premier League and one alarming statistic has shown just why that is the case.
Molineux has yet to see a win on home turf for six months, and away form has been equally poor, with Wolves‘ last win in the Premier League coming in late April.
Vitor Pereira was at the forefront of that, but his sacking earlier in the month means Wolves are looking for a new boss.
Rob Edwards looks destined to come in, and Wolves will be hoping for an upsurge in form. But one stat highlighting their poor shooting shows why they are rooted winless at the bottom of the table.

Damning Premier League statistic shows why relegation is a bigger threat than ever for Wolves
Wolves only have seven goals so far in the Premier League, and with 25 conceded, they have the most both for and against – a recipe for disaster.
But delving deep into the statistics, it’s clear to see why.
When looking at shooting stats between themselves, Burnley, Leeds and West Ham – four of the bottom five – Wolves are comfortably the worst in the relegation zone at hitting the target.
| Position | Team | Played MP | Won W | Drawn D | Lost L | For GF | Against GA | Diff GD | Points Pts |
| 16 | 11 | 3 | 2 | 6 | 10 | 20 | -10 | 11 | |
| 17 | 11 | 3 | 1 | 7 | 14 | 22 | -8 | 10 | |
| 18 | 11 | 3 | 1 | 7 | 13 | 23 | -10 | 10 | |
| 19 | 11 | 2 | 3 | 6 | 10 | 20 | -10 | 9 | |
| 20 | 11 | 0 | 2 | 9 | 7 | 25 | -18 | 2 |
Per FBREF, West Ham’s player with the most shots on target is Jarrod Bowen on 12, whilst Burnley and Leeds both have players on eight via Jaidon Anthony and Dominic Calvert-Lewin respectively.
For Wolves, their most prolific players are Ladislav Krejci and Marshall Munetsi, on just five.
That, of course, is made worse by the fact that Krejci is playing at centre-back, whilst Munetsi is a nomadic midfielder.
Their actual strike duo of Jorgen Strand Larsen and Tolu Arokodare both just four and one shot on target each, which is by far the worst of any striker duo in the league.

Other teams are sharing shots across the pitch and Wolves haven’t hit that formula
By contrast and to add further to the haunting stats, Burnley duo Josh Cullen – a midfielder – and Zian Flemming have five and four shots on target this season.
Meanwhile, Leeds have Brenden Aaronson, Joe Rodon and Anton Stach who have yet to be overtaken by Strand Larsen’s four, with Rodon being a centre-back.
It’s worth noting that Flemming scored twice against Wolves, as well as Stach notching an incredible free-kick against the Old Gold – with both coming at Molineux.
West Ham have four players who rank higher than Wolves’ leaders in terms of shots on target, and that paints an awful picture that Rob Edwards must fix quickly.
It’s clear that Strand Larsen knows where the net is, as seen by his 14 Premier League goals last season. But that likely came through the added help of Matheus Cunha and Rayan Ait-Nouri, who have both departed.
