Wolverhampton Wanderers may have received a boost in their bid to keep hold of Adama Traore.
It was recently claimed that Champions League winners Chelsea are keen on the player.
The Telegraph drew up a shortlist of players on the Blues’ radar.
It included Spain international Traore, who has previously been tipped as a possible big sale for this summer.
But it seems he isn’t the only right-sided player Chelsea have interest in.
Jonas Hofmann of Borussia Monchengladbach is also a target, and he would supposedly cost around £34 million.
The 28-year-old was in fine form for Gladbach in 2020/21, making 33 appearances and scoring eight goals and making 13 assists.
That is considerably more than Traore, who registered just three goals and three assists.
Wolves need to find Traore contract agreement
Chelsea eyeing alternatives to Traore is good news.
But obviously Wolves aren’t out of the woods just yet.
Traore is unique and likely coveted by plenty of other teams.
Really the club need to be trying to extend his contract in order to protect the value of their asset.
It was recently reported that talks were no longer deadlocked, and so it should be a priority to get him on better terms.
