Eagle-eyed Molineux fans would have noticed a former Wolves target shine during Senegal’s surprise victory against England.
Whether it be Fabio Silva or Goncalo Guedes, it’s fair to say Fosun have made their fair share of transfer mishaps over the years.
Arguably, their biggest mistake, however, could come in the shape of missed targets.
This would be on full display during England’s shock defeat against Senegal, with a former Wolves target shining on the night – namely Habib Diarra.

Former Wolves target Habib Diarra shines vs England
Having just seen Matheus Nunes depart for Manchester City, Wolves were in need of a midfield replacement back in the summer of 2023.
With this in mind, Fosun would look to France and earmark Diarra as a potential option.
Wolves would table a £21m bid for Diarra, but that offer would be rejected by Strasbourg, with the French club eager to hold on to their midfield talent.
Fast forward two years, Diarra has just shown the world his talents with a dazzling performance for Senegal against England.
Grabbing the African side’s second on the night, the 21-year-old was a constant threat, with his energy and pressing causing the England midfield a whole host of problems.
Wolves still have the chance to sign Diarra
Having watched Diarra impress at the City Ground, Wolves may be tempted to reignite their interest in the midfielder. If that is the case, they will have to be quick.
That is because Leeds United are heavily interested in the 21-year-old, with L’Equipe reporting that the Whites have tabled a £22 million offer for the Senegalese international.

The N’Golo Kante-like form of Joao Gomes and impressive displays of Andre ease Wolves’ need for a top midfielder.
But with Tommy Doyle likely to leave, there could be a need for a third centre-midfielder in case the worst happens and either Gomes or Andre gets injured.
