Wolves are reportedly not in the running to sign a highly coveted player from the Championship.
Gary O’Neil has brought in three new players this summer and also turned Tommy Doyle’s loan move from Manchester City permanent.
The three newbies – Rodrigo Gomes, Jorgen Strand Larsen and Pedro Lima – have all stood out in pre-season and fans are really excited to watch them in the Premier League.
Wolves have just gone a little quiet in the transfer window over the last few weeks.
No new players have come in for over a month now, and some do feel as though Wanderers just need a little bit more before the end of the window.
Speculation continues though, and it was recently claimed that Wolves had interest in Norwich City attacker Jonathan Rowe.
But a counter-claim has been made this morning.
Wolves not currently in the race for Jonathan Rowe

It had been reported over the weekend by journalist Darren Witcoop that Wolves were one of several clubs taking an interest in Jonathan Rowe of Norwich City.
Rowe really excelled last season for the Canaries as they fell just short of promotion, scoring 13 goals across 38 appearances all competitions and providing four assists.
He was subsequently named Norwich’s Young Player of the Season.
As a result of his great performances, a number of clubs have been linked with him this summer, and Leeds United are said to have tabled an opening offer of £7 million.
Wolves have also been linked, but journalist Alex Crook has claimed this morning on X: “#LUFC interest in Jonathan Rowe is real. Understand #NCFC are keen to keep him so would take a very decent offer. #Wolves not in the running, contrary to reports.”
Wolves could regret missing out on Rowe
So at the moment, it sounds like Wolves – who have held an interest in the player for a while – are not firmly in the race for Rowe. But it can be argued that they need to be.
Sure, Wolves have some good options to play out wide at the moment.
The likes of Hwang Hee-chan, Pedro Neto, Pablo Sarabia, Matheus Cunha and new signing Rodrigo Gomes can all operate in the wide areas, and it looks as though Chiquinho could also be sticking around.
But Rowe is an exciting young talent and has the potential to become a serious player.
Undoubtedly, the 21-year-old is the profile of player Wolves really like these days. He’s young, and an unpolished gem, but with the potential to become a top star. He is described as an ‘explosive winger’ by the Guardian, who has drawn comparisons to Raheem Sterling.
Perhaps Wanderers ought to be seeing about signing Rowe in this window, but allowing him to stay on loan at Norwich for the 2024/25 season so he can develop further.
Next year, Wolves will be needing a replacement for Sarabia, and Neto could leave – if he hasn’t really departed this summer.
With the prices that are being mentioned at the moment, it may be in Wolves’ interests to get involved and sign up a player with serious potential.
