Wolverhampton Wanderers have reportedly been joined in the hunt for one of their main transfer targets this summer.
Supposedly, Leicester City are keen to land Joao Palhinha.
The claims are backed up by Portuguese outlet A Bola, who say the Foxes are reigniting their previous interest in the player.
Palhinha has been heavily linked with a move to Wolves in recent months.
The midfielder enjoyed a brilliant 2020/21 season with Sporting CP.
He was a key player in their surge to the league title.
His manager Ruben Amorim certainly rates him highly and does not want to be losing his enforcer this summer.
But there could well be a strong possibility of that, especially if Wolves lose Ruben Neves.
But Leicester’s interest is bad news for the club.
Wolves may need to act fast
Wolves don’t want to run the risk of missing out on Palhinha and should therefore start to put the wheels in motion now.
The idea of Leicester wanting Palhinha is fairly significant.
In recent years, their recruitment has been absolutely spot on.
So them now wanting Palhinha would suggest he is the real deal.
Palhinha is someone that could greatly improve Wolves’ midfield.
It would be a bitter blow for fans to watch him head to the King Power after all the reports linking him with Wolves.
But it’s something that could well happen if the club do not act with haste.
