The need for more options in midfield at Wolves has been well documented all summer.
Currently, Andre and Joao Gomes are the only real quality in the middle of the pitch for the Old Gold, with Jean Ricner-Bellegarde and Marshall Munetsi also capable of dropping into those roles.
Meanwhile, Ladislav Krejci is also tipped to be a versatile option for the middle of the pitch.
Jeff Shi said it was a good window for Wolves, but the lack of signings in that area has left Wolves incredibly light in natural midfielders.
Tommy Doyle and Boubacar Traore were allowed to go out on loan to seek more game time, as a player to come into the fold was expected.
But now, with no midfielder brought in, Wolves may have made a mistake with the details of those loans.
Wolves do not have recall options on Boubacar Traore and Tommy Doyle loans

Tommy Doyle has joined Birmingham City on loan whereas Boubacar Traore is spending the season at Metz.
Their game time was always going to be limited, so a loan move at the time made sense for the pair.
However, with no midfield signing brought in, Wolves may have made a major error in the details of the loan.
Speaking on the Express and Star Wolves Podcast [58:17], Liam Keen confirmed the two players don’t have a recall option in their loan deals.
Either way, Wolves would be unable to bring the pair back unless it was during a transfer window, meaning they would have to wait until the New Year.
With the need for more bodies in the middle of the pitch, either one or both could have been a sensible recall option in January.
It could be a decision that comes back to bite the club, especially if the pair are putting in excellent performances and Wolves are still desperately needing legs in the middle.
However, if they are, that would not prevent the possibility of bringing them back early. But Fosun would have to pay.
Wolves would need to pay to bring Traore and Doyle back early
While there is no recall option, Wolves could still bring Traore and Doyle back early.
However, they would need to pay compensation to the club they sent the player on loan to.
It would not make sense for the Old Gold to pay to bring back a player they already own in January, and it is not really sensible.
They wanted to sign a midfielder in the summer window, so focus should be on bringing one into the club in the winter.
But in hindsight, the recall options should have been included, as if Doyle and Traore were outperforming expectations at their loan clubs, they could have been more cost effective options come January.
Although, there may be a midfielder in the Wolves academy who can step up.
