Wolves interest in ‘game changer’ target could hand Vitor Pereira his own Raul Jimenez – here’s why

The summer transfer window is set to be a crucial time at Molineux with Wolves braced for change.

Vitor Pereira is already thinking about where to improve his Wolves squad ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

The Portuguese manager made three signings in what was a successful January transfer window for Wolves, with further movement expected in the summer.

Already, Pereira has declared that he wants to sign a forward in the summer window however, that’s not the only position Wolves could strengthen.

What transfer target Caspar Jander could offer Wolves

It’s become apparent that Wolves are interested in Caspar Jander of FC Nurnberg, as the 22-year-old continues to make waves in the 2.Bundesliga.

Jander is a central midfielder with an eye for contributing defensively and going forward, a profile that Pereira could look to add to his project.

Given Pereira’s admiration for Joao Gomes and Andre, it makes sense for the Wolves manager to recruit a player similar to his Brazilian pivot, and Jander could just offer a little more in one key area.

As per FotMob data, no midfielders in the German second tier are performing as well as the Wolves target when it comes to his rate of assists and chances created per 90.

For those at Molineux, the most interesting area that Jander has strengths in is his crosses, ranking in the top 2.3% of midfielders in the 2.Bundesliga for his successful crossing average.

Wolves’ crossing won the game against Southampton as emphasis was finally put on Jorgen Strand Larsen’s strengths, resulting in the summer signing scoring a brace.

Jorgen Strand Larsen could be transformed by Jander

With the right service, Strand Larsen can become Wolves’ heir to Raul Jimenez, which was an opinion shared by icon Dave Edwards.

Edwards noticed similarities between the Norwegian and Jimenez, stressing that greater attention to detail with crosses will only make the 25-year-old better.

Right now, Wolves have some strong creators in the squad, but Strand Larsen’s needs are still only partially met, something that a signing like Jander could change.

Hailed as a ‘game changer’ by scout Julian Berce, Jander’s eye for playmaking is what separates him from the rest in the 2.Bundesliga this season.

The 22-year-old could offer Pereira, and particularly Strand Larsen, something that could transform Wolves going forward, being a keen crosser and playmaker.

A player who can play to Strand Larsen’s strengths is one element holding the summer signing back from being a reliable source of goals for Wolves, something the Old Gold have been missing in the number nine spot since Jimenez’s departure.
