Wolves have now gained key strength just in time to punish West Ham weakness

Wolves may have just improved in an area that has been West Ham’s weakness this season, and it could not have been better timing.

Rob Edwards will be in search of his first win at the Old Gold, and against fellow relegation candidates, there is no better time to get one.

Former Wolves manager Dean Saunders believes things can turn around quickly for Wolves with just one win, and Opta have rated the Wanderers’ chance quite highly.

And with a new strength, the odds of three points have surely gone up for Rob Edwards, especially if he can tap into it for a third game running.

Will Wolves pick up their first win of the season against West Ham?

West Ham are terrible at defending set-pieces

When West Ham come to Molineux, they arrive with a truly terrible record that Wolves can exploit.

Across the Premier League season, no other side has conceded more goals from set pieces than Saturday’s opponents.

West Ham have let in 12 goals from set pieces, with Liverpool (before facing Leeds United on New Year’s Day) and Bournemouth also level on that amount.

It is not often you come across a team with a clear weakness, but Rob Edwards should look to give his side as many opportunities as possible to test the Hammers’ resolve.

Especially after what Wolves have begun doing over the last two games they have played, if both trends continue to persist, there is a real growing chance of three points.

Finish the sentence: The first player on Rob Edwards’ teamsheet vs West Ham must be _______.

Wolves have scored two corners in last two fixtures

In the last two games, Wolves have scored goals from set pieces. Santiago Bueno reacted quickly when Tolu Arokodare’s header was parried by Alisson at Anfield to pull one back in a 2-1 loss.

And then Ladislav Krejci headed in against Manchester United to draw the Old Gold level at Old Trafford.

The prowess from set pieces could not have come at a better time considering who Rob Edwards is now set to come up against.

With that in mind, Arokodare must surely be in line to start a third consecutive game, as his aerial presence will be an incredible asset.

If Jorgen Strand Larsen returns to the starting XI, it must be alongside the Nigerian and not in place of him.
