Out of nowhere, Wolves struck an agreement to sign David Moller Wolfe and shortly after unveiled the Norwegian as the third summer signing.
Moller Wolfe will join the Wolves squad ahead of the start of the Premier League season, with a chance for the defender to feature against Manchester City.
Fans will hope to see the left-back in the squad for the final pre-season friendly, as Wolves welcome Celta Vigo to Molineux.
Arriving from AZ Alkmaar, Moller Wolfe has a similar profile to Rayan Ait-Nouri, joining Vitor Pereira’s project to replace the Algerian, who signed for Manchester City earlier in the summer.

Wolves reveal David Moller Wolfe’s squad number
Moller Wolfe is an exciting acquisition after a summer that has seen more players depart than arrive, which has become the norm for Wolves.
The 23-year-old, who will slot in seamlessly to Pereira’s plans being well-accustomed to the left-wing-back role, will have a difficult challenge to overcome.
It’s been announced that Moller Wolfe will wear the number six shirt at Wolves, a number that, ordinarily, would represent his stance as a first-team starter.
At Molineux, the low squad number actually stands for the opposite, giving Moller Wolfe a task to change how the shirt has been perceived since the Old Gold gained promotion to the Premier League in 2018.
Moller Wolfe must change history of Wolves’ number six shirt
Moller Wolfe follows in the footsteps of the legendary Billy Wright by sporting the shirt number, but he also follows on from some rather underwhelming players to have worn the six.
Since Wolves’ promotion, the significance of the number six has dropped quite damningly, with the recent wearers not having a memorable time at Molineux.
The shirt number opened up for Moller Wolfe due to Boubacar Traore’s exit on loan, with the midfielder being Wolves’ number six since the 2022/23 season.
Traore has no future at Wolves and secured only 14 starts in a total of 41 appearances for the Old Gold, with his record staggeringly an improvement on the number six before him.
Before Traore, Bruno Jordao was allocated the number six between the 2019/20 and 2021/22 seasons.
Jordao, who now plays in Poland, made five appearances for Wolves, earning only two starts in a rather forgettable career in WV1.
Moller Wolfe has the challenge of changing how the shirt number is perceived, a task he’ll be eager to take on over the new campaign.
