Wolves’ David Moller Wolfe in line for a starting spot vs Newcastle after what he did in 11-1 Norway win

David Moller Wolfe got in on the action in Norway’s 11-1 hammering of Moldova, and Vitor Pereira should take notice.

It was a successful night for the Norwegians, who poured on the goals in their latest World Cup qualifier.

Wolves wing-back David Moller Wolfe was involved, but fellow teammate Jorgen Strand Larsen missed out due to injury.

And one moment from the game saw Moller Wolfe put forth an argument for a starting berth against Newcastle this weekend.

David Moller Wolfe’s assist to Erling Haaland suggests he can do damage against Newcastle

Wolves’ forward play has been uninspired at times this season, but there’s one thing they’ve been doing well. They have the most crosses in the Premier League this season.

In the game against Moldova, Moller Wolfe found Erling Haaland with a whipped cross for one of his five goals on the night.

This has been a rare area where Wolves have found joy going forward, so seeing the new signing’s aptitude for a quality delivery will surely encourage Vitor Pereira.

Newcastle are an extremely solid defensive side, especially at home, and Wolves will need to find any advantage they can to break down Eddie Howe’s side.

Hugo Bueno has been brilliant as of late, but it’s actually Moller Wolfe who has shown the better end product so far, assisting Rodrigo Gomes in the Everton game as well.

Vitor Pereira needs a big body in the box for David Moller Wolfe to aim at

No doubt, Strand Larsen will have been watching Norway, and probably disappointed not to have been part of the rout. He is a doubt for the Newcastle game, but he may well be ready to play.

If not, the idea of Hwang Hee-chan leading the line against Dan Burn and Fabian Schar doesn’t sound all that promising.

New arrival Tolu Arokodare has been open about not being fully fit yet, but his goal in 45 minutes for Nigeria suggests he can play, albeit perhaps not for the full 90 minutes.

Whatever the case, Pereira should aim to have one of the two larger strikers on the pitch at St James’ at any given moment, with the aim of continuing the crossing trend that has brought some success in the opening weeks.
