Jeff Shi is not a popular man at Molineux, and the executive chairman has never helped his own case.
His comments about the summer transfer window felt out of touch, and they have been proven remarkably wrong ever since.
Jeff Shi on Wolves’ summer transfer window business
It was just weeks ago when Jeff Shi received even more criticism about an internal hire, as Shi’s decision to make Matt Jackson sporting director did not land well.
There have been countless decisions he has made that have backfired, and that has now made it difficult for fans to ever be behind him.
Jeff Shi has made too many mistakes at Wolves

Over the last year, Jeff Shi has made more decisions that have made Wolves a more unstable football club.
The Old Gold are facing relegation this season, and Shi’s work at the board level has certainly played a role in that.
Some of the choices he has made have been costly for the club, and only the ones made over the last year that have led to this moment directly are shown below.
- The decision to give Gary O’Neil a new contract and then sack him months later.
- Dissolving Matt Hobb’s role as sporting director.
- Letting Domenico Teti and Vitor Pereira take the driving seat in the transfer window.
- The decision to give Vitor Pereira a new contract and then sack him months later.
- Trying to bring Gary O’Neil back to Wolves.
Of course, there are other choices Shi has made that have left the club where they are, but making such costly errors in a short space of time is worrying.
Another concern has been that the constant selling of their best players and replacing them with inferior talents has been happening for a much more prolonged period.
But how can fans ever trust the man running their club when so many costly errors have taken place in such a short time?
The answer is simple. They cannot.

Jeff Shi’s outlandish 2018 comments are hilarious to look back on
It is quite remarkable the position Wolves are in right now when you consider the aspirations that Jeff Shi had back in 2018.
The Wolves chairman had dreams of making Wolves the next Manchester City and even being better than them.
Jeff Shi’s 2018 vision for Wolves has drifted into a distant dream.
It was quite the line to come out with back then. And based on the work he has done since, it was just another lie and another slap in the face for fans.
The Old Gold have not even come close to that level. The club had one season in the Europa League, and even then Jeff Shi does not take credit.
Shi said, “We were good at the beginning, but we didn’t achieve that because we had a good foundation at the club.”
If Shi believes that the foundations he was putting into place were going to be better, he could not have been more wrong.
The relationship between the chairman and supporters will likely never be rebuilt, and when that is built on distrust, it seems difficult to see how it could go on much longer.
And Wolves fans are already making their anger known.
