The transfer window is all about opportunity, and a player who Wolves have previously shown interest in is available for free.
Wolves still have a lot of business to get done in the next two weeks. Vitor Pereira has said three signings are needed at least.
Having filled the right-back spot with Jackson Tchatchoua, rumours at the weekend were suggesting Wolves are now looking at the centre-back position, registering their interest in Arsenal’s Jakub Kiwior.
With another attacker also desperately needed in the squad, there may not be much money left over for a midfielder after those positions are addressed. Luckily, a cost-effective option is available right now and Wolves are already admirers.
Burnley’s Josh Brownhill is still available as a free agent
Josh Brownhill announced his departure from Burnley late last month after over five years of service for the Clarets.
This comes after a spectacular Championship campaign in which the Englishman bagged 18 goals as Burnley racked up 100 points to seal promotion to the Premier League.

But Brownhill, a player Wolves have admired for some time, has decided to seek a new challenge elsewhere.
As Burnley’s captain last season, the 29-year-old was integral to their Championship success, and as a free agent, he provides exceptional value to a Wolves ownership who have been pinching pennies for most of the summer.
Josh Brownhill is the tactically flexible option Vitor Pereira needs
Brownhill isn’t just a great option from a financial perspective, he’s also exactly the profile Pereira needs to add to the Wolves midfield.
Wolves’ performance against Man City showed us that Vitor Pereira will use midfielders in the more advanced positions, deploying Jean-Ricner Bellegarde and Marshall Munetsi either side of Jorgen Strand Larsen despite the attackers he had on the bench.

But rather than playing two players who have a combined six Premier League goals in 73 appearances, Pereira could opt for a player who managed 18 in 42 games last campaign.
Admittedly, Brownhill’s production is in a weaker division, but it still points to him having an eye for goal.
Brownhill still being available is a surprise, given his price and form last season, but Wolves should be all over that deal. It’s clear something fresh and creative is needed in this Wolves side, and Brownhill could be it.
