Finding a left wing-back to replace Rayan Ait-Nouri has been a problem for Wolves, but they’ve finally made a breakthrough.
On Thursday, it was reported that Wolves agreed a £10 million transfer for David Moller Wolfe from AZ Alkmaar, with the 23-year-old undergoing his medical on Friday.
Wolves have been searching for a wing-back since Ait-Nouri joined Manchester City in June, seeing Wolfe as an ideal replacement for the Algerian.
Wolfe was in inspired form for AZ last term, producing three goals and eight assists in all competitions and becoming one of the best full-backs in the division.
Now, he will have the opportunity to test himself in the Premier League, and there will be some clear winners and losers from a potential transfer.

Winners from David Moller Wolfe’s potential transfer to Wolves
Jorgen Strand Larsen
Jorgen Strand Larsen played a part in Wolfe’s negotiations with Wolves as the pair know each other well from international duty with Norway.
The 25-year-old will now enjoy the possibility of playing with Wolfe at Molineux and feasting from his crosses into the box.
The AZ wing-back is known for his pinpoint delivery, and with Strand Larsen to aim for in the area, surely the towering centre forward will thrive from his crossing.
Jhon Arias
During his time at Wolves, Ait-Nouri built up a strong partnership with Matheus Cunha down the left flank, something that fans enjoyed watching.
Jhon Arias has been brought in to replace Cunha in the left channel, and he could now build up a connection with Wolfe on the flank.
The chance to develop a strong partnership together could fill the void of their star players and cause the opposition problems.
Losers from David Moller Wolfe’s potential transfer to Wolves
Hugo Bueno
Hugo Bueno wanted to start regularly for Wolves after returning from Feyenoord and watching Ait-Nouri leave the club.
Sadly, the 22-year-old doesn’t possess the same attacking impetus as Wolfe, and he could now become a second choice for Pereira.
The Portuguese boss wants energy and dynamism down the left flank as well as attacking quality. Wolfe can provide those attributes in abundance, arguably more than Bueno.
Rodrigo Gomes
Wolves are still in the market for a right wing-back to replace Nelson Semedo. As it stands, Ki-Jana Hoever is the first choice, and Rodrigo Gomes is second.
Gomes is also capable of playing down the left flank. However, with the impending arrival of Wolfe, he now has to move ahead of the Norwegian and Bueno to stand any opportunity of featuring.
That means his chances of regular football look increasingly slim, especially with the possibility of a right back joining.
