Why Wolves duo Matheus Cunha and Hwang Hee-chan could now have a field day vs Spurs

Wolves are looking ahead to their next Premier League game against Tottenham Hotspur – and it could be a big opportunity for Matheus Cunha and Hwang Hee-chan in particular.

Wolves are looking to bounce back after the disappointing defeat to Sheffield United.

Wanderers lost 2-1 at Bramall Lane. A late penalty was their undoing, with Fabio Silva being adjudged to have fouled George Baldock.

The decision has been widely slammed. But ultimately, Wolves were poor in the second-half and must improve.

Spurs come to Molineux on Saturday for the day’s early kick-off and it promises to be a cracker.

On Monday night, the north London giants took on Chelsea and it was one of the most pulsating matches of the season so far.

Tottenham’s use of a high line was absolutely remarkable to watch.

Cristian Romero and Destiny Udogie both got sent off, but this did not stop Ange Postecoglu from ordering his defensive line to play as high as possible.

Chelsea ended up winning 4-1, but it strangely took the Blues a while to work out how to play against the high line.

Having runners from very deep was ultimately how they got success, and O’Neil will surely be looking for Wolves to play in the same way.

Spurs will not be playing as high up on Saturday with 11 men. But they have been playing a fairly high line all season, and it is there to be exploited.

Wolves have two players who will be relishing this weekend’s game – Matheus Cunha and Hwang Hee-chan.

They are the two fastest Wolves players, and there is potential for both to spring the offside trap with their pace if they can time their runs. It’s a bit of a shame that Pedro Neto will not be available, as he’s another would could potentially have a field day.

We have seen how £60,000-a-week star Cunha likes to come deep, and so this game could really suit the Brazilian.

Postecoglu will be without some key players for the game. But that high line will be likely, with the manager insisting on Monday that his side will not change the way they play.
