Wolves have moved up to 17th in the Premier League table after beating Fulham 4-1 – and Matheus Cunha was again the star of the show.
Wolves fans are starting to feel a little better after a really tough start to the new season for the club.
It’s now back-to-back wins for Wanderers in the Premier League and four unbeaten, and one man who’s played a huge part in that is Cunha.
Cunha’s incredible first goal against Fulham drew Dennis Bergkamp comparisons from pundit Ashley Williams, and then Alan Shearer hailed Cunha as one of the stars of the Premier League this season
His second was equally brilliant, as he swept the ball into the top corner. Before that, he had also assisted Joao Gomes will a lovely through ball.
It’s been quite the campaign from him so far, but now people are talking, and the Brazilian is drawing attention.
So given that, Wolves now have to spring into action.
Wolves must seek contract extension agreement with Matheus Cunha

It’s been claimed by journalist Liam Keen that Cunha has been tracked by big clubs for about 12 months now.
He is really standing out in this team, a bit like Pedro Neto did before his big move to Chelsea, and a bit like Ruben Neves did before joining Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia.
Cunha is clearly Wolves’ best player these days, and we’ve probably now reached the point where Wolves officials need to be thinking about getting him tied down.
When Cunha arrived at Wolves, he signed a contract until the summer of 2027. So at the end of the season, he’ll only have a couple of years left to go.
The club should be looking to open talks with Cunha about a potential extension, because he is the talisman of the team, and someone who has the quality to win games on his own.
He needs to be made the top earner to reflect his status as the best player.
Obviously, there is still a threat of relegation this season, although Cunha staying fit and in form could mean Wolves don’t ultimately have any worries about that.
But perhaps Wolves could tempt Cunha to sign with the promise that he can leave for a very reasonable fee in the event of relegation.
The club just need to do whatever it takes to get Cunha tied down, because he might just be one of the most talented players Wolves have ever had.
Why Cunha might want to extend at Wolves
An extension for Cunha at Wolves shouldn’t be ruled out.
He’s likely to be the subject of a lot of interest in the coming windows, but the player is very happy at Molineux and has completely bought into Wolves, the manager and also the city.

It’s very possible he’d be open to agreeing to fresh terms, just so long that it’ll be fairly easy for him to leave if Wolves do go down – few fans would begrudge him going for a lesser fee if that did happen, given what he’s down.
He’s now reached a point where he’s idolised by many Wolves fans, and he is heading for cult hero status already.
So Wolves officials must now get this on their to-do list. There’s no harm in seeing where Cunha’s head is at, and the club have everything to gain.
