Troy Deeney spoils Watford Vs. Wolves with comments about Raúl Jimenez’s mask

Watford Vs. Wolves at Wembley in the FA Cup semi-final was a fantastic match spoiled by captain Troy Deeney’s comments about Raúl Jimenez’s mask.

Wolves were 2-0 up with less than twenty minutes left, but the match quickly changed after Rúben Neves and Diogo Jota were subbed off.

Gerard Deulofeu scored a stunning goal in the 79th minute and Deeney slotted home a needlessly given away penalty in the 94th.

Heading into extra time, Watford had all the momentum and they were the only team that looked a threat.

Deulofeu’s second goal in the 104th minute of extra time ended up denying Wolves a FA Cup final against Manchester City.

The battle between Wolves and Watford was intense with both teams showing that the FA Cup is still a prestigious trophy.

Unfortunately, people have stopped talking about the action on the pitch thanks to Deeney’s silly comments about Jimenez’s mask.

Jimenez scored in the 62nd minute and celebrated by putting on a Wolves themed mask given to him by WWE wrestler Sin Cara.

Deeney responded to Jimenez’s celebration in post-match interviews by calling the Mexican superstar a “loser”.

Speaking to beIN Sports, Deeney said, “There’s a bit of me that wants to say something nasty, but I won’t, but I’m glad he put that mask on. He can wear it out as well now he’s a loser. Enjoy the mask, we got the victory.”

As if that wasn’t bad enough, Watford “legend” Luther Blisset called Jimenez “disrespectful” and a “cartoon character”.

Former Wolves striker Stephen Elliott has since defended Jimenez’s celebration along with Sin Cara.

It’s a shame that a fantastic match has been overshadowed by unnecessary and unsportsmanlike comments from a role model who changed his life for the better.
