Vitor Pereira’s latest hint suggests one new signing will have no trouble breaking into Wolves starting XI

The influx of new signings has made it difficult for Vitor Pereira to land on a strongest Wolves starting XI.

Vitor Pereira hasn’t been afraid to switch things up in his starting lineup so far this season, but he will have to find some bit of stability and consistency in who he fields if Wolves are to get into a rhythm.

The attacking areas have seen plenty of rotation, with Jorgen Strand Larsen’s injury troubles forcing the manager’s hand.

But Pereira has revealed what he is looking for in the forward areas, and it points to one new signing becoming a fixture in the side.

Vitor Pereira wants his wide attackers to invert and Fer Lopez will benefit

Speaking to E&S, Pereira outlined his vision for Wolves’ attack this season.

He wants to use players on their weak side, and as the only starting quality left-footed attacker, Fer Lopez now has a clear avenue into the first XI.

“This is something that I will try this season,” says Pereira. “In this moment, I cannot change a lot because it’s time to understand clearly the ideas, especially for the players that are arriving.”

The fact that we are in the early stages of the campaign is what is giving Pereira some grace in terms of results. But he thinks a few more games will be enough for this Wolves side to settle.

He continues: “But I believe in the future I want to switch the positions because I like the players that can play not just in one position, but more than one position. It can give us different movements.”

Lopez has impressed Pereira in the short time he’s been at Molineux, and he deserves a starting opportunity at Wolves.

Fer Lopez started for Spain U-21s and played well

The Spaniard made his first international appearance on Tuesday for Spain’s U-21 side as they faced Kosovo.

Lopez trained with Spain’s senior team during the break, indicating he is impressing at the international level.

He made a great impression on Tuesday night too, assisting Spain’s first en route to a 3-1 win.

Pereira’s comments point to Lopez having a big part to play for Wolves this season. The 21-year-old has been a spark of creativity in a mostly bland attack, and he should continue to get chances and build up his confidence.

There’s a player of real ability in there.
