Vitor Pereira will be invested in what one of his former players has been saying about a Wolves target.
Wolves have been linked to many players this summer, as Pereira aims to get his squad up to scratch for the 2025/26 season.
The Wolves squad is still short going into the opening day, with a lot of concern about the Old Gold’s full-backs.
It’s not only in defence that Wolves need a restock, as the West Midlands club are searching for another forward to bolster Pereira’s options.
One player on the list was Wallace Yan, whom Wolves scouted in Rio de Janeiro.

Wolves sent a warning about Wallace Yan
Wolves were preparing an offer for Yan, who, at just 20, stole the headlines for Flamengo at the Club World Cup.
Despite the ‘reliable’ Flamengo youngster being a huge upcoming talent in Brazil, Wolves were unable to strike a deal for the forward, but it might’ve been for the best.
In a recent clash between Flamengo and Atletico Mineiro, Pereira’s former striker, Hulk, revealed his problem with Yan’s temperament.
“The first time we had an argument on the field, I told him to calm down,” Hulk explained to the mixed zone.
“I said, ‘Calm down, man,’ because he was cursing Renzo Saravia and Cuello. He turned to me and said, ‘Go f— yourself in that corner.’ I said, ‘Calm down, what a rotten mouth.’ And he said, ‘Go f— yourself in that corner.’ Then I said, ‘Man, you’re rude.”
Though Hulk, who worked with Pereira at both Porto and SH SIPG, was disgusted by his interaction with the Wolves target, he understood the reason behind his fiery ways.
“I have nothing against him. I tried to say he’s a very talented kid. Sometimes the press ends up being a bit picky. Everyone’s defending their team. What we try to do is offer advice.”
The striker did, however, give Yan some words of advice, admitting that in his opinion, the 20-year-old could ruin his career if he doesn’t tone down.
“He has a lot to go on, to grow, to become a great player. He needs to keep his head up; otherwise, he’ll end up ruining that with his football.”
Being a player with 835 domestic appearances and 433 career goals to his name, Yan might be wise to take the 39-year-old’s advice on board.
Why Wolves won’t be signing Yan
Though transfer interest between Wolves and Yan was well-documented earlier in the summer, talk concluded when Flamengo won the race.
Flamengo wanted to keep the 20-year-old in Rio, which they achieved by tying the striker down to a new contract.
Yan now has a £52m release clause in place at Flamengo, a fee that Wolves simply will not pay for one player.
The Brazilian club warded off Pereira efficiently, blocking any way in for Wolves in their pursuit of prying Yan away from South America.
