Wolves fans cannot believe how things have turned around so spectacularly recently – and it’s all thanks to Vitor Pereira.
Wolves were in a world of trouble at the back end of 2024.
Gary O’Neil had just been sacked for overseeing a terrible run of results, and there was a real disciplinary issue within a frustrated and emotional squad.
Fans were also extremely disgruntled.
It was by no means an easy job to walk into.
But Pereira took it on, and has been a revelation – totally transforming the picture.
Pereira has overseen a win of six straight wins in the Premier League. The last time Wolves went on such a run in the top-flight was 1970.
It was an amazing April to say the least and now, Pereira stands a golden chance to do something that’s quite rare for a Wolves manager.
Vitor Pereira will surely be Premier League Manager of the Month for April

Wolves won all five of their games in April.
It started with a 1-0 win over West Ham United at Molineux. Wolves then beat Ipswich Town, swept aside Tottenham Hotspur, edged Manchester United and then disposed of Leicester City.
No Wolves fan would have foreseen this kind of form a few months ago.
But Pereira is doing something special at Molineux, and excitement is growing regarding the future under this manager.
And as a result of Pereira’s brilliance in recent weeks, he surely now stands a golden chance of being named the Premier League Manager of the Month for April.

And this would be quite a rare feat.
Bruno Lage was the last Wolves manager to win the award, over three years ago in January 2022. He won three out of three games that month against Brentford, Southampton and Manchester United, and that win over United was Wolves’ first victory at Old Trafford since 1980.
Should Pereira win, it’d be just the fifth Premier League award presented to a Wolves manager, after Lage and Nuno Espirito, who won it three times.
Manager of the Month gong would further strengthen Pereira’s position at Wolves
It would be an absolute shock if Pereira did not win the Premier League Manager of the Month award for April after winning five out of five, scoring 11 goals and conceding just three.
Wolves have been the best team in the league and he will hopefully be acknowledged with the award.
And that would only strengthen Pereira’s hand further at Wolves.
It’s very possible he could use that as leverage to get himself a new and improved contract. Pereira has already admitted he’d be open to signing a new contract.
It would be ideal, because it puts pressure on Fosun to ensure that Pereira is backed. And backing this manager feels like it could help the club bring back the good times.
